Mozilla and Mistral Partner to Expand AI Competition in Firefox

Mozilla and Mistral describe the arrangement as a way for an independent browser and an open-source-oriented European AI company to work together without Mistral owning the browser or Mozilla removing model choice. Mozilla plans further European expansion later this year, according to the announcement.
