Zeph introduces a voice-first hardware interface for AI agents

Summary

Zeph is a physical hardware companion designed to put AI agents within reach during everyday work. Users press a button to dictate into any application system-wide, while the device’s always-on display can show information such as rate limits, CI status, upcoming events, agent results, and approval requests. Through MCP, an agent can push a notification to the device, where the user can respond without returning to a Mac. Zeph says it works with tools including Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, Obsidian, Notion, Raycast, Warp, Zed, Ollama, and Linear. The company also describes a local-first design in which audio and state are encrypted and remain on-device by default, while users can bring their own model or use the cloud. Developers can build sandboxed WASM applications with a single SDK intended to run across supported Zeph boards. The listed hardware includes 2.16-inch and 1.8-inch AMOLED devices based on Waveshare ESP32-S3 boards; purchases are handled through third-party stores.
