Skorpion OS is a Debian-based Linux distribution that integrates a local artificial intelligence assistant into the operating system. The project, created by Enrico Miot, uses Ollama to run an AI model on the user’s hardware and is designed to keep data on the computer rather than sending it to external servers. Its planned system-wide architecture centers on SKAI, a shared model and persistent memory layer intended to connect applications such as LibreOffice, Firefox, the terminal, and a file manager. Installation is provided through Lite and Cinnamon ISO images, with Ollama and the AI model installed during first boot. Shared vector memory, model fine-tuning, image search, and a LibreOffice plugin remain in development or are planned.
