WSP WordPress MCP Connects AI Agents to WordPress

Summary

WSP WordPress MCP is a WordPress plugin that turns a site into a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for AI agents including Claude, Cursor, Codex, Antigravity, OpenClaw, and OpenCode. It lets connected agents read and edit posts, pages, media, menus, WooCommerce data, forms, SEO metadata, and Elementor layouts, with additional integrations for plugins such as Yoast SEO, Rank Math, ACF, Gravity Forms, Contact Form 7, and WPForms. The server is built into the plugin, so natively supported clients do not need a companion plugin, MCP Adapter, or Node.js bridge; Claude Desktop and OpenClaw use an mcp-remote bridge that requires Node.js 18 or later. The prerequisites are WordPress 6.9 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer. Administrators enable individual abilities in wp-admin, while write abilities are disabled by default, and tools run with the connected WordPress user’s capabilities and per-object permission checks. The plugin supports OAuth 2.1, WordPress Application Passwords, and generated API keys, and records calls with the user, IP, outcome, and duration in a self-hosted audit log that is automatically pruned after 90 days. Recent releases added user and site-information management, plugin and theme controls, navigation-menu tools, and a read-post tool for drafts and other non-public statuses. The project reports version 2.9.2 and says the native connection flow replaced the legacy MCP Adapter and Abilities API path in version 2.2.
