Ampersand Raises $15 Million to Build Integration Infrastructure for Enterprise AI Agents
Summary
Ampersand announced a $15 million Series A led by Bessemer Venture Partners, bringing its total funding to $20 million, and launched a platform for deep integrations between enterprise AI agents and systems of record. The company argues that agents promising business outcomes must work inside products such as Salesforce, NetSuite, SAP, and other customer-specific systems, where data models, permissions, workflows, and fields vary by deployment. It describes this problem as “Tripartite Drift”: provider APIs and credentials, the vendor’s integration code, and each customer’s configuration all change over time. Ampersand says teams can spend one to two months understanding and configuring a single Salesforce implementation, delaying product development. Its platform exposes five primitives—Read, Subscribe, Search, Write, and Proxy—and uses `amp.yaml` to define customer-specific objects, fields, and mappings. The runtime manages authentication, token refreshes, retries, backfills, monitoring, and related production operations. Ampersand says it has built the platform over three years with customers including 11x, Orb, Square, and other startups. Funding priorities include expanding into ERP and industry-specific systems, growing a forward-deployed systems-of-record expert team, and developing Andi, an AI integration agent now in beta. Andi works against Ampersand’s deterministic infrastructure to help implement and maintain integrations while keeping engineering teams in control of configuration, observability, and validation.
