nanoMuse Open-Sources a Cross-Device Personal Agent

Summary

nanoMuse is an open-source personal agent designed to run across Android, iPhone and iPad, Windows, macOS, Linux and the browser. It is distributed under GPL-3.0-or-later and includes the phone app, desktop app, web console and relay in the same repository. Unlike a chat-only assistant, it can operate a Linux shell, browser, MCP servers and skills, and can use device screens to interact with apps that lack APIs. It can continue scheduled goals and routines while the app is closed, maintain editable Markdown-based memory, and send tasks between a phone and computer under one account. Before deleting, sending or paying, it pauses for approval; passwords, codes, logins and CAPTCHAs remain for the user to enter. Conversations are coordinated through a relay, while files and screenshots remain on the devices where they were created. Users can use the community relay allowance, supply keys from one of 18 providers, connect existing ChatGPT, Claude or Kimi plans, or run their own relay. The project lists version 0.1.40 as its latest release and provides installers, a browser demo and self-hosting instructions.
