agent-history brings recent AI coding sessions back to the terminal
Summary
agent-history is a Bash and Zsh shell plugin for locating and resuming recent AI coding work from the terminal. It reads execution logs and session databases used by assistants including Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Aider, Gemini or Antigravity, Pi, Droid, Factory, Codex, OpenClaw, Hermes, and OpenCode. The plugin filters out deleted projects and home-directory roots, then presents a dashboard with relative activity times, the current Git branch, and the assistant associated with each session. Users can run `ah <num>` to change into a listed project, request up to 25 sessions, or configure the search paths and display limit through environment variables. The project supports Oh My Zsh, Antidote, Zinit, generic Bash, and manual installation, with a one-line installer also provided. It can print the dashboard on SSH login or every terminal start, adapts its layout to narrow screens, shortens long paths, and claims sub-200-millisecond operation by consolidating searches and using Bash built-ins. The repository describes a three-level fallback strategy for porting the logic to other shells: query agent-specific files, scan structured logs, and then parse raw streams with native shell tools.
