FrontierRoles Launches a Read-Only MCP Server for AI Job Search

Summary

FrontierRoles has launched a free MCP server that lets Claude, ChatGPT, and supported coding clients search the FrontierRoles job board from inside an AI conversation. The server uses the endpoint `https://mcp.frontierroles.com/mcp`, requires no account, API key, authentication, or rate card, and links each role to the employer's own application page. Its read-only tools can search jobs, retrieve a full posting, list a company's open roles, report board statistics, and expose the skill taxonomy used by filters. The service supports custom-connector or developer-mode setups in Claude and ChatGPT, an HTTP command for Claude Code, and configuration files for clients including Cursor, Windsurf, and VS Code, with client-specific setup differences. ChatGPT custom MCP servers require a paid plan and the web app; the server is not compatible with the separate Deep Research route because it does not expose tools named `search` and `fetch`. FrontierRoles says the data comes directly from employer applicant-tracking systems, is rebuilt nightly, deduplicated, and removed when roles close or exceed 90 days. Responses include a snapshot date rather than claiming to be live. The service stores no accounts, cookies, or query history, and also exposes the underlying JSON data and an RSS feed.
