AI Cords Introduces an AI Recorder Built Into an Eyewear Retainer

Summary

AI Cords is developing a wearable AI recorder designed to look like a Croakies-style eyewear retainer rather than a pendant, clip-on microphone, or smart glasses. The device places microphones near the ears and includes a rear control unit with the battery, storage, wireless connectivity, and a microphone for capturing room sound behind the wearer. Users start and stop recording with a side button, while a visible light remains on during recording; the company says there is no camera, always-on listening, or secret recording mode. AI Cords says its software can reduce background sound, distinguish speakers, produce a transcript formatted like a script, and extract decisions, action items, names, numbers, and keywords. The product is intended to work with thin or thick frames, including prescription glasses, and may also be paired with company-provided frames. Captured conversations can be made available to AI agents and other tools through the AI Cords app, MCP, or a CLI. The company lists founders, sales teams, consultants, journalists, researchers, creators, and frontline professionals as potential users. Its roadmap says the concept and industrial design are complete, a working prototype is next, and early-access testing and first production are planned stages; the page invites people to join a waitlist.
