ConfigLens Traces Winning Claude Code and OpenCode Settings Offline

Summary

ConfigLens is a pre-release, local and read-only Rust CLI that traces supported configuration keys across Claude Code and OpenCode sources. It reports the observed winner, every contributing or overridden definition with file and line information, and any source it could not read. The tool does not execute a client or configuration, open sockets, access credential stores, or make network requests at runtime; sensitive values are redacted unless an adapter explicitly allowlists them. Version 0.1.0-beta.3 ships unsigned prebuilt binaries for Windows x86-64, macOS Apple Silicon, and Linux x86-64, with SHA256 checksums; source installation requires Rust 1.85 or newer. The adapters are only fixture-verified against project fixtures and upstream documentation, not upstream runtime loaders, and unsupported or unknown client versions are reported provisionally rather than resolved by guesswork. Claude Code support lists version 2.1.296 and OpenCode lists 1.18.35 tested plus 1.19.0 documented, while managed policies, remote defaults, registry settings, and other layers remain incomplete depending on the client. Because an unreadable higher-precedence layer may still change the result, ConfigLens labels its result an observed winner and withholds the effective value when coverage is partial. Commands include scan, explain, doctor, snapshot, diff, and support-report; reports can pseudonymize paths for sharing, but redaction does not guarantee anonymity. Snapshots use owner-only permissions on Unix, whereas Windows ACL tightening is not implemented. The project describes itself as a working prototype, with a quadratic engine and a recorded 100-key benchmark of about 3.8 ms on measured hardware, not an end-to-end latency guarantee.
