Which Companies Allow AI in Coding Interviews?

Summary

This directory tracks AI policies in the technical interview processes of 37 companies. It distinguishes between interviews where AI is banned, rounds where AI is allowed, and AI-native interviews designed around AI tools. Many companies keep live coding or algorithmic rounds AI-free: Anthropic, Applied Compute, Cognition, OpenAI, Ramp, and others explicitly restrict or default to no AI. Other companies permit or expect AI in at least part of the process. Canva allows AI tools but expects candidates to defend the output; GitLab says AI use is encouraged; Cerebras expects it; and Kogan.com asks candidates to bring tools such as Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot. Several companies split the signal across rounds, using both AI-free and AI-assisted assessments. Datadog, PostHog, Sonar, and Wrike are examples of this approach. A further group has replaced conventional coding screens with practical, AI-centered work: DigitalOcean uses a three-hour build with any AI, while Sierra and Qualified describe AI-native assessments. The directory also includes companies that assess candidates through realistic codebases, paid trials, or work trials instead of traditional coding interviews. Each field can be edited and submissions can be made anonymously without an account.
