PostEra is hiring a remote, full-time Machine Learning Researcher to develop its agentic science work for drug discovery. The researcher will build agentic systems that automate mechanistic modeling of biochemical and physiological processes and analyze biological data for target validation, working with chemists and biologists to inform drug discovery decisions. The role also focuses on molecular and tabular in-context learning, few-shot adaptation, and foundation models trained on PostEra’s proprietary multimodal data. Researchers will determine which prior examples are useful, measure when transfer helps or harms, and improve prediction reliability under distribution shift. Responsibilities span the full research cycle: defining tasks, datasets, evaluation episodes, baselines, training pipelines, ablations, and scientific software used by PostEra’s scientists. Application areas include potency modeling, ADME prediction, selectivity, lead optimization, and early clinical-study design. The posting cites PostEra’s Proton platform, internal Women’s Health and Fertility programs, more than $1 billion in AI partnerships, and an antiviral drug discovery center funded by a major NIH grant. Candidates need a PhD or comparable STEM research background, strong machine learning research or engineering experience, and hands-on Python work with PyTorch or JAX. Experience with large-scale training, tabular or molecular foundation models, and AI co-scientist systems is preferred. The role pays $200,000-$300,000 plus 0.05%-0.1% equity; visa sponsorship is unavailable.
