Killa YuE is a free, open-source Android music studio built around M-A-P’s YuE2 lyrics-to-song model. It generates full songs with vocals from a style and lyrics on the phone, using a Qualcomm Adreno GPU when available or CPU mode on other arm64 Android 9+ devices. The project says version 1.5.0 has been run on one Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra with a Snapdragon 8 Elite, and warns that other devices are untested; GPU mode needs about 4 GB of model storage and roughly 6 GB of free memory for a full-length song. Models are downloaded to the device, songs remain local, and the app says only web-search queries leave the phone when its optional Write with AI feature performs a lookup. The app supports adjustable song length, scores, render settings, style adapters, lyric timing, sheet music, MIDI, albums and phone-to-phone sharing. Its Studio adds Demucs-based stem separation, clip editing, recording, a mixer, effects, automation, instruments, mastering and drum-pad sequencing. The on-device songwriter uses llama.cpp with Gemma 4 E4B to write titles, styles and lyrics. On the test phone, a 20-second song at 32 render steps took about seven minutes, while a full-length song at the default setting took around an hour; heat can reduce GPU speed. The engine is a C++/GGML Android port that uses a bundled Qualcomm-oriented Vulkan/Turnip driver and a foreground-service child process. The app source is Apache 2.0, but YuE2 weights are downloaded separately under CC BY-NC 4.0, with commercial use requiring a license from the model authors. Killa YuE is an independent project and is not endorsed by M-A-P or the YuE2 authors.
